After a period of negotiations, I’ve finally received permission from my favorite poet and his new bride to publish some of the personal photos I shot at their July wedding.  (Please see the photos in my album under the title “Paris Match.”)

Marriage remains the union of disparate elements: male and female, Yin and Yang, proton and electron. What am I talking about here? Nothing less than the very tension that binds the Universe. When we look at marriage, people, we are looking at creation itself. “I am the sky, “ says the Hindu bridegroom to the bride. “You are the earth. We are sky and earth united… You are my husband. You are my wife. My feet shall run because of you. My feet shall dance because of you. My heart shall beat because of you. My eyes see because of you. My mind thinks because of you and I shall love because of you.”

Look into the eyes this happy couple. See hope. See love. See the promise of a future. See your own dreams. Dream again. Wish them well.

    Hey J,
Thanks.  Thank your friends for me (for allowing you to publish the photos).  After fifteen years of marriage, you have to work hard to not take your partner for granted.  Out of the blue the other day I met a couple that had been married as long as I have been alive.  They had celebrated their 50th.  I just walked away in awe.
    Best of Wishes,

    Hello Jorge,
I just browsed through the wedding pictures.  What a handsome couple! They are two beautiful people who certainly exude love and commitment to each other.  Thank you for sharing them.
We continue to enjoy unbelievably nice weather. A true Indian summer.  I shutter to think what will happen when the weather turns on us.  The Farmer\’s Almanac projects a warmer than average winter – the thirty year average, but a tad colder than last winter which was a gift. They hedge on the precipitation though. Here is where we could get more than average.
At the moment I\’m enjoying my Sunday morning coffee but expect to work on my orchids a bit and spend time with my irises.  And get a few more things into storage in the garden house.  Every year I program so much to get accomplished and never quite hit my mark so have next years projects lined up!  And of course NY Giant\’s football this afternoon.  What a contradiction – huh!
You take care and enjoy your Sunday.  I fear we lost our Danele.   Bittersweet

Very romantic words from the Hindu wedding, and Peter looks so in love.  I send a Grandmotherly prayer for their lasting love and happiness, as I know you will say a prayer for my Jonathan when his turn comes in May.  Aren\’t lucky that our sons are blessed with love.  Yes it\’s nice to find another who loves opera.
    Blessed be

How wonderful to witness people at the beginning of their lives together… Every newly married couple is an opportunity for the rest of us to renew our vows and a reminder not to take what we\’ve had so long for granted.  May they always remember what they see in each other today.

    Good Afternoon Jorge,
Wedding photos…always makes me warm and "fuzzy" inside. Your Son and Daughter-in-Law are very blessed to have found one another. The photos not only depict l-o-v-e but their souls u-n-i-t-e-d. May they be blessed for as long as they are remain in love and as O-N-E. Thank you for posting them and thank the Poet for allowing you to share this beautiful day with us.
About your comment left at my place : I would have been working as well this past weekend…if I had not been laid off. I will again pursue the task of "job searching" since I am back home. ( Fingers crossed here. )
    Until next time….Keep Smiling.

that may have to take over or at least tie with my favourite and perfect description of what love is. What would we be without it? – its pleasure and its infinite pain. It is something we have no control over, that cannot be beaten out of us or starved out of us and which goes on and on beyond existence itself. Yeah, I\’m feeling that way tonight. sorry.

Marriage is another opportunity life gives us to increase the love in the world, Jorge.
Not only does it warm the lives of the married couple, but the goodness rubs off on everyone involved–family, friends, and those of us who are fortunate to learn about the newlyweds.
    May their happiness endure!
