Circumstances

Welcome back to Monday’s Poem of the Week. As we head into the holiday home stretch, I welcome back my friend Dave who has kindly allowed me to share the following timely reminder with you.

Circumstances

Unforeseen circumstances
And is there any other kind?
The universe’s jerky dances
Definitively ill-defined
Cause and effects are mere romances
Passionate but also blind
We roll a life and take our chances
And make dessert with what we find
